*ahem* Also a little bit speculative about what the two of them will look like down the road. Obviously, Akio bulks up a bit, gets some muscle, switches from hoodies and skinny jeans to tank tops and cargo pants... and he also likes to steal Kat's dog tags to make himself look a little tougher.

Kat doesn't change much. Her leather jacket stops being a worn-every-day accessory and goes to a when-I'm-sad comfort blanket, and she gets a haircut (and sometimes binds her chest and/or wears a little bit of makeup).

Akio develops a small crush on Kat very early on in the story, but Kat honestly doesn't seem him that way for a long time because he's very immature. As he grows up, though... things change up quite a bit. Seeing as Akio is Demi, he starts to feel sexual towards Kat around the time that she starts to feel romantically attracted to him... That's not to say that the story doesn't have any sexual tension between the two of them, tho Thanks for the suggestion, amy
