There is value in facing challenges.

It takes an extrodinary amount of inner strength to be able to step up and face a challenge. It takes a great deal of willpower to try, and to push past the niggling feeling in the back of my head that I'm going to fail.

What can go wrong? What if I trip on my way up to the stage? What if I had a terrible, blatant typo in my essay? What if my fingers mess up and I play a terrible chord and make the whole audience stick their fingers in their ears?

What if I fail?

So what? So what if I fail? So what if I don't make the cut for the team? So what if I messed up on my solo? So what if I trip and fall? It won't be the end of the world. I will wake up tomorrow morning, and the world will still be spinning. I can try again tomorrow, I can try something else, and I've learned from my mistake.

If I am to fail, let me fail spectacularly. I want a failure to remember. I want a failure that will make a hilarious story at parties and a good lesson to teach my children. I want a failure that will go in the hall of fame, written in gold under the plaque labelled "World's Greatest Failures".

Yes, I might fail. It's bound to happen sooner or later, especially if I keep doing this thing called "trying to accomplish something".

I might fail. But if I don't try, I will never succeed.

The success is what makes it all worthwhile. When I finally do hold that trophy in my hands, when I finally do get that scholarship, when I finally do get my novel published, it will all be worth it. I'll be able to look at my accomplishment and say in a loud, proud voice, "I tried my best and won, even though I was scared of failure."

And so, to anyone who has ever accomplished anything great, I say congratulations on rising to the challenge.
Just finished my provincial exams. *headdesk* SO MUCH STRESS THIS IS CRUEL. I did English First Peoples 12 yesterday and First Nations studies 12 today. Yikes. This excerpt is from English First Peoples.
I was allowed to use any sort of format to prove or disprove the point, "there is value in facing challenges".
I hope I did well on the exam! :D
