Chapter 20 (Madhouse Funhouse)
10:51 P.M.
Charlotte Kiss
Ash and I wind our way through the twisted halls of the funhouse. The downstairs is even worse than before. The mirrors are more warped than ever, and more than once I’ve started down what I thought was another hallway only to bump into a mirror. My head is swimming from the dizzying sight of all of the mirrors and blinking lights. The splatters of blood I sometimes come across on the floor and on the walls are hardly helping the tense panic I feel in my chest or the nausea I feel coiling in my stomach.
Ash stays close. I look up ahead, he looks out behind, and we both try to open as many doors

I can hear crying, but it is not muffled like those who I have bound and gagged.
It’s Charlie. I have broken her.
Hmph. Too bad. I had hoped that she would put up more of a fight. She had the look in her eye of someone who would not give up so easily, even in the face of strife. She was clever but naïve. It must be the naivety that caused her weakness. Pity.
Then I hear it. It is faint from where I stand in the upstairs of the funhouse, but it helps me pinpoint her location near the stairs. Charlie is screaming.
“LYNETTE SILAS, YOU WILL PAY FOR THIS!”
I laugh. Oh,

I had left James for Charlie to find on the top floor and decided to entertain myself. There was nothing in the rules of the game that said I couldn’t take a short break from chasing after her and play with the things that I have already caught.
I twirl the freshly severed finger in my own. I have never clipped off a man’s finger, before. It was a little more difficult than I expected. I should have aimed for a knuckle instead of cutting right through solid bone.
The bolt cutters lie in the corner next to the man who is curled up into himself pitifully. I can hear him sobbing. I had ta

I skate down the endless, winding hallways as fast as I can without making too much noise. I found James. I can find the others. I just have to stay focussed and not let the fear get to me.
Easier said than done.
The halls twist and turn in odd shapes and formations. The flashing lights would be enough to trigger an epilepsy attack, and coupled with the contorted mirrors the sights are enough to bring on a fierce headache that almost seems to squeeze my eyes in their sockets.
I see a few words that Lynette took the time to scrawl on the walls and mirrors. They’re painted in red, sloppy h

I amble down the hallway, humming an easy tune. I am in no rush to catch Charlie. In fact, I want to make this night last as long as possible. Afterwards, I will attempt to get my hands on some alcohol and a promiscuous partner so as to finish the perfect evening. So far, this is turning out to be a spectacular day. I have not felt adrenaline rush through my veins in such a way for a long, long time. I have missed it greatly.
The problem with Charlie begins to dawn on me. I cannot simply allow her to escape, of course. Obviously. I will have to deal with her accordingly, in whatever method is most fit&
