Of Paper Roses and Coral Bracelets
Slowly, I finger
The perfect, pink
Never-fading roses
That twine around
The white wrought iron
Of my bed.
Multi-coloured, regimented
Plants, ripple in the breeze
Over the portal,
Twist around
The mirror-window
Daffodils trail, glowing
Over gateways
To Narnia
And sparkling, gauzy dragonflies
Flutter in invisible line
Beside a purple-pink orchid
Birds peck by mountains
The size of keys
And a golden angel hovers,
Smiling
Over purple sea pearls
And white oyster seeds
Above them, turquoise coral
Hangs, in a hoop
The painted phoenix soars
While the jade chi'lin
Prowls, amongst peacock quills
Under arcing, trembling star
